when shopping for an event dj, what should i consider

1. Best Value

Price is always an important consideration.  Yet, the best value will include the greatest amount of experience, service, and professionalism for your investment.

2.  Services Included

Any reputable DJ company should be able to provide music.  But this is your most special event.  We believe that your DJ has the responsibility to make memories.  Our job is to coordinate, keep events flowing and maintain a festive atmosphere.

3.  Music Selection

Most events involve guests of various age groups and tastes.  The music should reflect this need.

Our music spans the 1920's to the current hits in various genres including (but not limited to):

    * Top 40               * R&B/Hip Hop

    * Country              * Disco

    * Oldies                * Big Band

    * Latin                  * Motown

    * Party Favorites   * Standards/Jazz

 Our library currently consists of over 52,000 titles.

 Plus, at least, 150 new songs are added monthly. 

Music selections for the event should include:

• Sponsor's requests
• Guest's requests
• Dance enhancement selections by the professional DJ.

4.  Equipment

Equipment should be professional grade with adequate coverage for your area and number of guests.

There should also be a backup plan if equipment failure occurs.

5.  Reputation

Ask for references or testimonials.  Question references about:

• Reliability:  Each year we receive calls from folks searching at the last minute because their DJ or band has cancelled or simply vanished.
• Professionalism:  This should be demonstrated by obtaining a contract for services, their phone etiquette, business conduct and professional attire.
• Service Philosophy:  You have a vision of what you want.  We provide a personal consultation to discuss ways to customize your event.  Based on our experience, we can share ideas with you on how to maintain the flow and energy level of the party.  But, ultimately, you are in charge.

6.  Hidden Costs

Beware of contracts with fine print.  Our contract price quote is inclusive of all expenses except any additional packages you may want to add.

Saturday (up to 4 hours*):  $525

June, September and December Saturdays are $595

Fridays and Sundays (up to 4 hours*):  $300 (Weddings are $450)

 Mondays thru Thursdays (up to 4 hours*): $195 (Weddings are $325)

 * additional hours available at $45 per hour.

(These prices reflect a 50 mile radius.  An additional $25 transportation charge will be added for each additional 1-25 miles. Your contract will reflect those costs as when you discuss booking us.)

 All entertainment services provided in West Virginia are subject to a 6% sales tax.

Lighting Packages:

• Basic Lighting - 4 multicolored pinspot lights (PAR 38's), mirrored ball, rope lights, and police light. $35
•  Standard Lighting - BASIC package plus strobe light, choice of fogger, hazer or bubble machine, and fog ray lights. $55
• Deluxe Lighting - STANDARD package plus lazer lighting and various sound-activated lights. $109
• Super Deluxe Lighting - DELUXE package plus lighting scrambler, scanning lights, siren and choice of any 2 fogger, hazer or bubble machine all in a lighting truss presentation. $199

Karaoke - The karaoke package has  over 15,000 titles. $40
